Qualifications

• Associate or higher degree in early childhood education (or equivalent).
• Must meet NJ licensing standards for Head Start programs.
• Car available on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for preschool children.
• Submit weekly curriculum-based lesson plans to the Site Director and Education Manager.
• Observe, assess and document each child's growth and development, maintaining records.
• Ensure services for children with special needs are implemented.
• Maintain safety and report accidents or health concerns, as well as abuse or neglect.
• Prepare reports and monthly updates for the Parent Center Committee.
• Plan parent involvement activities and conduct parent/teacher conferences.
• Visit homes twice per program year and participate in trainings.
• Assist in administrative duties as delegated by Head Teacher or Directors.
• Perform any other Head Start tasks as delegated.
