Job summary

Toole Design Group seeks an experienced transportation leader to head its integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice from Boston, MA. This firmwide leadership role combines practice leadership with active project delivery and reports to the Engineering Director, while collaborating with Design and Planning Directors.

Qualifications

• Desire to lead a practice — not just a project.
• Strategic thinking for where the practice should go and what work to pursue.
• Commitment to technical excellence as a senior voice on complex projects.
• Experience leading integrated teams across transportation engineering and multimodal planning.
• PE is preferred; PTOE and/or AICP credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and practice planning to meet annual growth targets.
• Support the practice’s financial health through effective project delivery and quality control.
• Collaborate with leadership to advance practice priorities.
• Recruit and advise on hiring to support growth.
• Advance training, innovation, and quality control in the practice.
