Job summary

Muon Space seeks an Software Engineering Manager to lead the Simulation infrastructure team, delivering high-performance simulations of spacecraft and related systems to inform mission proposals and hardware development. You will grow the people, processes, and technical capabilities of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with architects and engineering leaders across the company.

The role is hybrid and requires on-site work in San Jose, CA three days per week.

Qualifications

• BS/MS or equivalent in CS/Engineering/Physics or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
• Experience delivering physical simulations and data analytics programs.
• Domain expertise applying physics-based modeling to hardware design and testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers and scientists who build numerical modelling infrastructure and perform data analysis
• Spearhead a cross-functional roadmap with partners and Muon's priorities
• Guide execution of foundational projects to understand performance of complex space systems
• Develop and track quality and performance metrics for mission-critical systems
• Collaborate with leadership to architect long-term processes and organization
• Manage team capacity, staffing, and growth, including hiring and performance development
• Be a voice of responsible leadership in a fast-growing, dynamic workplace
