Muon Space, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead simulation infrastructure in our San Jose office. The role focuses on building reliable web services and high-performance compute jobs, influencing architecture, and delivering simulation products to stakeholders.

The candidate will mentor teammates and collaborate across mission design, ground software, and operations, using Python, C++, and cloud tools to deliver scalable simulation solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years' experience as a software engineer in a team environment.
• Strong programming experience in Python and C++.
• Willingness to operate in novel technical domains.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and support in-house simulation services for stakeholder teams.
• Break down complex technical goals into detailed proposals.
• Collaborate with modeling experts to integrate simulation models into products.
• Integrate client feedback to drive iterative improvements to simulation products.
• Expand test coverage by developing novel off-nominal scenarios.
• Work with Software Test to integrate tools into automated testing campaigns.
• Lead by example with reliable estimation and planning.
• Ensure alignment with company goals and performance metrics.
• Mentor Simulation and Test team engineers.
