Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of experience in power markets, energy consulting, or utility planning.
• 5+ years leading technical presales or advisory teams.
• Working knowledge of ERCOT, CAISO, SPP, WECC, AESO, and IESO market designs.
• Hands-on production cost, capacity expansion, or resource adequacy modeling; PLEXOS or Aurora proficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to run multiple pursuits, manage scope, timelines and deliverables.
• Executive presence with utility, ISO, and regulatory leaders; comfortable presenting to C-suite.
• Data fluency with Python/SQL; applying AI/ML to energy modeling workflows.
• Commercial acumen: qualify opportunities, shape deal strategy with Sales, and scope services.

Responsibilities

• Lead a West Region presales Solutions team of energy economists, power systems engineers, and modeling specialists.
• Own technical presales across the sales cycle for PLEXOS, Aurora, and Adapt2 opportunities.
• Partner with Sales leadership on territory plans, account strategies, and pipeline reviews.
• Map business problems to differentiating Energy Exemplar solutions.
• Design and deliver market-specific demonstrations and workshops.
• Scope and execute proofs of concept and pilots with clear success criteria.
• Lead technical responses to RFPs/RFIs and own architecture and SOW inputs.
• Ensure smooth Presales‑to‑Services handoffs for closed deals.
• Build reusable demo environments and reference models for Western markets.
• Represent Energy Exemplar at ISO forums, conferences and webinars.
