Job summary

Whop in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Head of Payment Relations to own relationships with payment partners end to end, turning them into a strategic advantage. You will drive risk-aware partnership strategies and ensure smooth operations for a rapidly growing user base.

The role is based in-office in Palo Alto and requires leadership in disputes, chargebacks, and card network monitoring, with close collaboration to the Compliance team to resolve issues quickly and maintain regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Experience in account management, partner management or payments risk at a PSP, acquirer or high-volume merchant or platform.
• Fluency in disputes and chargebacks, card network monitoring programs, and how processors make risk decisions
• A track record of building trusted relationships with senior partner contacts, and of pushing back when needed
• Ownership mindset: you see what needs doing and do it without being asked

Responsibilities

• Own relationships with our payment partners and run weekly check-ins with each of them
• Monitor dispute and chargeback rates, card network program exposure, reserves and fines across partners, and spot problems before they escape
• Work closely with our Head of Compliance to flag and resolve compliance issues quickly
