Job summary

Databricks is seeking a strategic Developer Advocate Manager for Open Source to lead the DevRel Open Source portfolio, scale a team of advocates, and deepen engagement with Apache and Linux Foundation communities.

You'll drive parity between engineering realities and community needs, craft compelling technical content, and raise adoption of Databricks open source projects globally. This role emphasizes leadership, storytelling, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in developer relations or similar technical role.
• 2+ years managing a DevRel team.
• Proven open source contributions and governance experience.
• Established relationships with Apache Foundation and Linux Foundation.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills.
• Experience using AI to scale a team's output.

Responsibilities

• Own developer relations for open source portfolio end-to-end.
• Hire, level, and grow a team of Developer Advocates.
• Strengthen vendor-neutral standing in Apache and Linux ecosystems.
• Establish repeatable advocacy approaches for the team.
• Grow adoption and contributions across open source projects.
• Drive awareness of Open Lakehouse and Omnigent through events.
• Guide the creation of high-quality educational content.
• Expand communities via meetups and online forums.
• Represent the community inside R&D and roadmap discussions.
• Apply AI to scale team output while maintaining depth.
