Job summary

Databricks is seeking a leader to manage our open source Developer Advocates, deepen engagement with Apache and Linux Foundation communities, and drive technical storytelling that builds trust and adoption. This role requires a strong reputation in open source and a passion for elevating other advocates.

You will lead by example, coach a team to deliver high-quality content, talks, blogs, and courseware while aligning developer needs with product strategy.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in developer relations or advocacy plus hands-on technical work.
• Strong open source/community engagement experience.
• Ability to coach and scale a DevRel team.

Responsibilities

• Own developer relations for open source portfolio end-to-end and define success.
• Hire, level, and grow a team of Developer Advocates with clear career paths.
• Strengthen standing in Apache and Linux Foundation ecosystems through credible programs.
• Establish repeatable advocacy approaches, event playbooks, and contribution guides.
• Grow external adoption and contributions across open source projects.
• Speak at industry events to raise awareness of Open Lakehouse and Omnigent.
