Job summary

Valon is hiring a Head of Infrastructure to lead Cloud and Developer Infrastructure as one cohesive organization. You will shape the strategy for Compute, Storage, data platforms, CI/CD, testing, and observability, balancing reliability with fast developer velocity.

You will manage managers and senior leaders, drive architectural decisions, and partner with product, security, and operations to deliver a clear roadmap and measurable outcomes. Remote-friendly in the US, with offices in NYC and SF.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience including leadership of multiple teams or an infrastructure organization.
• Experience owning a broad infrastructure portfolio (cloud platforms, compute, storage, databases, SRE, developer infrastructure).
• Hands-on with cloud providers (AWS or GCP), container orchestration, data stores, CI/CD, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate a multi-year infrastructure strategy across Cloud and Developer Infrastructure.
• Lead and grow a high-performing organization including managers and senior leaders.
• Own portfolio roadmap and investment decisions across Compute, Storage, data platforms, and observability.
• Set company-wide standards for reliability, security, and operational excellence.
• Partner with executives to align infrastructure with product strategy and business goals.
• Build planning, review, and operating mechanisms to make progress visible.
• Stay hands-on to guide architecture and critical technical decisions.
• Recruit and develop leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
