Job summary

Valon Technologies is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Developer Infrastructure team within the Platform org. You will guide a high-impact group responsible for the tooling that shapes how every engineer builds, tests, ships, and operates software at Valon.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes a product mindset, reliability, and security, with a focus on observability, CI/CD, and AI-enabled tooling. Remote-friendly with optional SF/NY office access.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering.
• 2+ years leading and developing engineering teams.
• Experience building or operating developer platforms and internal tools.
• Strong systems thinking and understanding of workflows and production infra.
• Hands-on with cloud providers (AWS or GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Product-minded with ability to translate needs into scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers focused on developer infrastructure and internal tooling.
• Own technical strategy, planning, and execution for the developer platform.
• Mentor and contribute hands-on when needed—architecture, code, debugging.
• Partner with leaders across the company to reduce friction and improve adoption.
• Build mechanisms for prioritization, service ownership, and feedback.
• Establish engineering processes to improve velocity and reliability.
• Invest in recruiting and developing talent through coaching and feedback.
