Job summary

Valon is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the Developer Infrastructure team within the Platform organization. You will shape how every Valon engineer builds, tests, ships, and operates software, treating infrastructure as a product and partnering across security, data, and operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on architecture, coding when needed, and developing a high-performance, feedback-driven team culture with strong emphasis on recruiting and career growth.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading teams.
• Experience building or operating developer platforms, internal tools, CI/CD, observability, or release automation.
• Strong systems thinking and understanding of developer workflows, architecture, and production infrastructure.
• Hands-on with cloud providers (AWS/GCP), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD, and modern observability stacks.
• Product mindset and ability to translate internal customer needs into scalable tech solutions.
• Track record of leading teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments with strong mentorship.
• Excellent communication skills and bias toward action, learning, and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers focused on developer infrastructure and internal developer experience.
• Own technical strategy, planning, and execution for the developer platform with reliability and usability as priorities.
• Provide hands-on contribution when needed—code, architecture, debugging systems.
• Partner with engineering leaders and teams to identify friction points and deliver high-leverage improvements.
• Build mechanisms for prioritization, platform adoption, and continuous feedback from internal customers.
• Establish and evolve processes that improve velocity, quality, and operational readiness.
• Invest in recruiting, coaching, and developing talent; promote a high-agency culture.
