Atlantic Group is hiring a Head of Human Resources in New York, NY to lead HR strategy, employee relations, talent acquisition, payroll, benefits, and compliance for our staffing and recruiting organization. Reporting to the Co-Founder & CFO, this senior role will oversee daily HR operations, support internal staff and temporary workers, and drive workforce development and organizational growth.

The position operates on a hybrid schedule with on-site presence in Midtown NYC and remote

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8+ years of HR experience, preferably in staffing/recruiting.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
• Experience supporting temporary or contract workforces.
• Hands-on payroll/benefits systems and HRIS proficiency.

Job Overview – Head of Human Resources (Staffing & Recruiting)

Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000/year + bonus

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Head of Human Resources in New York, NY, to join our internal leadership team. Reporting directly to the Co-Founder & CFO, this senior-level position will lead HR strategy, employee relations, talent acquisition, payroll, benefits, and employment compliance across our staffing and recruiting organization. The Head of Human Resources will oversee daily HR operations, support internal employees and temporary workforces, and partner with executive leadership to drive workforce development and organizational growth.

Responsibilities as the Head of Human Resources:

• HR Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute HR initiatives, advise executive leadership, and oversee daily human resources operations.
• Talent Acquisition & Workforce Management: Oversee recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes for internal staff and temporary or contract employees.
• Payroll & Benefits Administration: Manage payroll operations, compensation programs, employee benefits, leave administration, and required benefits reporting.
• Employee Relations & Development: Address employee concerns, oversee performance management, support professional development, and promote a positive workplace culture.
• Employment Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour requirements, leave regulations, workers' compensation, and workforce documentation.
• HR Operations & Process Improvement: Maintain HR policies, employee records, reporting processes, and internal controls while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications for the Head of Human Resources:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• Experience: 8+ years of human resources experience is required, preferably within the staffing and recruiting industry, with experience supporting temporary or contract workforces strongly preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compensation, payroll, benefits administration, workers' compensation, and HR compliance is required, including familiarity with FMLA, NY Paid Family Leave, and ACA reporting requirements.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with payroll and benefits administration systems, HR information systems, employee records management, and Microsoft Office is required.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to advise senior executives, manage sensitive employee matters, balance strategic and operational responsibilities, and maintain confidentiality.
