Job summary

Plotline, a fast-growing B2B SaaS company in San Francisco, seeks a Head of Marketing to build and own our pipeline engine. This hands-on, player-coach role leads outbound at scale, sets strategy, builds the team, and partners with Sales to generate a qualified pipeline aligned with ICP.

You will own messaging, channels, and budget, and report ROI and CAC to leadership and the board. You\'ll lead outbound and cross-channel activities, ensure measurable ROI, and collaborate with Sales to expand

Qualifications

• 8+ years in B2B SaaS marketing or growth, including 3+ years leading a marketing or demand generation function at an early- or growth-stage company.
• Experience building and running an outbound program that sourced pipeline and revenue, and can share results (meetings, pipeline $, conversion rates).
• Hands-on with sequencing, data, and CRM tools (e.g. Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, Clay, ZoomInfo, Sales Navigator, HubSpot, Salesforce or related tools).
• Has written and A/B tested outbound copy.
• Has owned a pipeline or revenue target jointly with Sales.
• Reports on funnel metrics, conversion rates, attribution, and forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Run outbound program end to end: ICP selection, list building, messaging, sequencing, and execution across channels.
• Create target account lists, hand-off criteria, and pipeline targets with Sales leadership; review conversion data weekly.
• Write and standardise positioning and outbound messaging; produce sales assets (case studies, one-pagers, landing pages).
• Test segments, subject lines, offers, and channels; document results.
• Own the marketing budget; report pipeline, CAC, and ROI to leadership monthly.
• Run channels beyond outbound (events, communities, podcasts, partnerships) and track pipeline per opportunity.
