Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Service Manager to lead the service department, drive safety, efficiency, and profitability, and mentor branch service personnel.

You will develop annual goals, manage labor and equipment service, coordinate training, and maintain service-quality standards while upholding the company vision of One Mission, One Team, One Plan. You will monitor warranty programs, manage shop tools and fleet operations, ensure compliance with safety policies, and cultivate

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent required.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Service Technician and two (2) years in a supervisory position.
• Exceptional Interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and achieves annual goals and objectives for the service department to include expected billings for labor based on sales estimates, rental contracts, and equipment sales.
• Oversees product service managers and all branch service personnel; ensures all personnel actions are appropriate and timely, including annual and quarterly performance reviews, training, safety, and disciplinary measures; fosters good employee morale by personal contact and timely follow-up on employee suggestions, issues, and concerns.
• Controls time spent on repairs to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
• Ensures the Service truck fleet is in proper mechanical and safe operating condition and supervises the economical use of vehicles in the performance of service work.
• Engages in the daily use and implementation of the company's organizational tools, ERPs, and support software.
• Maintains and fosters good working relationships with manufacturers' representatives.
• Acquires and maintains knowledge of all warranty programs of represented manufacturers. Works with warranty operations to ensure accurate and timely submission of warranty work and prompt follow-up on rejections and receivables.
• Monitors and oversees safety processes and procedures and promotes safety to all service employees.
