Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of heavy equipment at customer sites across the region.

You will travel to job sites, perform in-field repairs, document work, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate has at least two years of diagnostic/repair experience, reads hydraulic and electrical schematics, and owns a tool set.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Two years of diagnosing and repairing construction equipment.
• Must furnish and maintain a set of hand tools and any special tools required by the company.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL if required.
• Ability to work overtime and stay overnight when needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs field repairs and maintenance with little or no direct supervision.
• Diagnoses equipment problems and makes repairs following established guidelines.
• Plans methods and sequence of assigned repairs.
• Maintains safety and PPE compliance.
• Keeps service truck in good working order and clean.
• Completes paperwork promptly and attends training as directed.
• Overnight stays near job sites when required.
• Communicates professionally with customers and team.
