Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance (Field) to travel to customer sites and perform in-field maintenance and minor repairs on heavy equipment. The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.

You will operate a mobile service vehicle, complete required paperwork, and participate in training. This position offers comprehensive benefits, paid training, and opportunities for growth within a family-owned company.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in heavy equipment or a related field.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Must own basic tools.
• Ability to work after hours and overnight.
• Class B CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment at customer locations.
• Lubricates, greases, and checks fluid levels as needed.
• Plans methods and sequence of repairs.
• Keeps rework to a minimum and reports additional work.
• Promotes safety and maintains a clean work area.
• Documents service reports and completes paperwork timely.
• Attends factory training as required.
