Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician to service customer sites across the region.

You will diagnose issues, perform in-field repairs on various brands of heavy equipment, order parts, and document technical reports while upholding safety standards. This role requires a high school diploma, English proficiency, 2 years' experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment, and the ability to read hydraulics/electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Able to read, speak, and write in English.
• Two years of continuous experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment.
• Able to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Furnish and maintain a set of hand tools and any special tools required by the company.
• Able to work overtime, stay overnight, and work on the weekend when needed.
• Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license; CDL if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs and maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose problems and repair equipment per guidelines.
• Plan methods and sequence of repairs.
• Maintain the service truck and perform safety inspections.
• Complete required paperwork promptly; attend training as specified by the supervisor.
• Exhibit professional demeanor with customers, managers, and colleagues.
• Travel and overnight stays near job sites as needed.
