Job summary

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in general liability claims, with mass tort and latent exposures.
• Strong knowledge of GL policy forms, allocations, triggers and coverage issues.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, develop and retain skilled claim professionals in a complex environment.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making for large-scale severity and uncertainty.
• Expert knowledge of claims principles, practices and procedures including investigation and resolution.
• Ability to solve complex issues and make informed decisions under pressure.
• Ability to interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external partners.
• Excellent communication skills for senior management presentations.
• Ability to extract insights from metrics to drive decisions.
• Adaptability to lead through change and manage risk.

Responsibilities

• Leads the work activities of medium to high severity specialized Claims Professionals with management responsibilities.
• Develops and retains talent, manages performance, and drives engagement.
• Oversees claim files including complex coverage issues and litigation strategy.
• Partners with Underwriting, Actuary, Reinsurance, Legal, and other stakeholders.
• Drives productivity, manages expenses, oversees resolution strategies and quality service.
• Ensures customer satisfaction and timely claim service.
• Ensures compliance with state/local regulatory requirements.
• Uses data analytics to monitor performance and identify trends.
• Develops collaborative partnerships to optimize operations.
• Participates in development and reinforcement of claim handling protocols and objectives.
• Escalates severity matters appropriately.
• May participate in special projects.
