Job summary

CNA Insurance is seeking an experienced claims professional to manage the most complex commercial claims, including coverage determinations, investigations and resolution strategies. The role requires strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to mentor junior staff while coordinating with internal and external partners.

Licensure within 90 days where applicable is expected, with compliance to state/local regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with Master's preferred in a related discipline or JD preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Typically, a minimum of 10 years related work experience such as claims or legal experience with proven track record of success.
• Latent injury and/or high severity general liability claims experience strongly preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicable.
• Skilled negotiator.

Responsibilities

• Assess coverage obligations including analyzing policy language in order to recommend and prepare written coverage determinations.
• Manages an inventory of the most complex commercial claims, with guidance on coverage determinations, investigations, and resolution strategies.
• Ensures exceptional customer service by driving continuous improvements for all aspects of the claim/account.
• Sets and manages timely and adequate reserves considering coverage, liability, and damages.
• Proactively coordinates, leads, and executes on agreed upon strategies.
