Job summary

LaunchDarkly is seeking a Director of Internal AI Operations to lead adoption and scaling of AI across the company, establishing operational objectives and processes to turn AI into a measurable business capability.

You will coordinate with Finance, Legal, IT, Security, and product teams to manage governance, budgets, risk, and policy changes while enabling AI initiatives and ensuring responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in AI or technology operations with leadership of cross-functional programs.
• Experience designing or scaling operating models with governance and metrics.
• Experience managing an enterprise portfolio of AI tools, vendors, or spend.
• Strong financial/analytical skills and ability to define ROI metrics and business-value.
• Excellent communication with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
• Experience influencing without direct authority across remote teams.
• Curiosity about AI and practical approach to responsible AI, data governance, privacy.

Responsibilities

• Reporting: track AI spend, usage, metrics, and forecast budgets.
• Portfolio management: maintain inventory of AI tools, vendors, spend, risks.
• Vendor reviews: manage internal AI feature review with stakeholders.
• Policy operations: develop and implement internal AI policies with Legal/Security.
• Transformation/migration: monitor AI roadmap, migrations, dependencies.
• Partnership with tech teams: enable product initiatives with AI value.
• Administration and audit: define access controls, data governance, offboarding.
• Communications and enablement: manage AI comm calendar, FAQs, launches.
• CoE coordination: standardize cadence across AI Centers of Excellence.
