Job summary

LaunchDarkly is seeking a strategic Director of Internal AI Operations to scale the company’s AI program. This role drives adoption, governance, and measurable business impact across functions, overseeing spend, policy, and cross-functional collaboration.

You’ll lead an enterprise portfolio of AI tools, vendors, and initiatives and partner with Finance, IT, Security, and Legal to deliver value and manage risk.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in AI/tech operations or related field with leadership experience.
• Experience designing and scaling operating models across functions.
• Experience managing an enterprise AI/tech tools portfolio, vendors, and spend.
• Strong financial, analytical mindset; able to turn data into executive-ready recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain visibility into AI spend and usage; forecast and budget.
• Maintain inventory of AI tools, initiatives, vendors, and dependencies.
• Lead AI Vendor reviews and Internal AI Feature Review process.
• Develop and maintain Internal AI Policy with Legal and Security.
• Track AI roadmap, migrations, adoption milestones, and risks.
• Collaborate with tech teams on new AI product initiatives.
• Define access, data controls, auditing standards.
• Coordinate Internal AI communications and training.
• Establish governance across AI CoEs.
