Job summary

IAM Hospitality seeks a Head Maître d’ for NORTE, a new Neighborhood Mexican Steakhouse in New York. You will own the reservation book, manage seating, and guide guest experience from first inquiry through the end of the visit, ensuring a consistently exceptional room each night.

You will participate in mandatory training as part of the opening preparations and lead with strong hospitality judgment, language skills, and relationship-building with regulars and VIPs.

Qualifications

• Maître d’ level experience in a high-demand NYC restaurant
• Owns the reservation book, seating plans, and pacing
• Ability to recognize guests and build regular clientele with discretion

Responsibilities

• Strategic Floor & Reservation Management: own table inventory, seating plans, pacing, and turn times; manage cancellations, waitlists, last-minute requests, and walk-ins.
• Guest Relations: recognize guests, anticipate preferences, build loyalty, maintain guest profiles.
• Service Leadership: partner with GM on priorities, communicate clearly with hosts/service teams, make timely in-service decisions.
