Job summary

The role focuses on leading safety in emergency response, adhering to procedures, and ensuring proper containerization and safety documentation. The position requires a 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification, ability to lift 75 lbs, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Wear proper PPE per OSHA/health standards.
• Communicate effectively with team and other departments.
• Inform management of issues promptly.
• Update job notes daily.
• Physically fit; able to lift 75 lbs.
• Thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced team environment.
• Lead safety in emergency response per R+L procedures and document safety actions.
• Experience operating tools related to emergency response.
• Set up and participate in live training events to ensure personnel competency.
• Audit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for compliance.
• Coach co-workers on unsafe behaviors.
• Participate in specialized scheduled projects as required.
• Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a confidential capacity and multitask.

Safety Hazmat Technician, Starting $75,000 - $85,000

2nd and 3rd Shift Available

Requirements

• 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required
• Based on OSHA and industry health standards, wear proper personal protective equipment when required
• Work effectively and communicate with team members and other departments
• Inform the management team of issues that arise on jobs in a timely manner
• Update job notes daily
• Physically fit; able to lift 75 lbs.
• Able to thrive in a high-pressure and fast-paced team-supported environment
• Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including following R+L procedures, properly containerizing waste/re-use products, and completing safety documentation, and upholding R+L’s high level of safety
• Experience operating tools applicable to emergency response activities
• Set up and participate in live training events to ensure the competency of personnel
• Audit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for compliance
• Ability and willingness to coach co-workers on unsafe behaviors observed
• Willing to participate in specialized scheduled projects as required
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications such as, but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work in a confidential capacity
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, while being detail oriented
