Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste using Class A trucks to designated generator sites. You will operate tractor-trailers and various trailers for bulk and containerized pickups, with occasional straight truck duties.

The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule with potential overnight shifts, weekends/holidays off, and DOT compliance responsibilities. Strong safety focus and customer interaction are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL with HazMat and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days from hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, tractors, and various trailers.
• Perform LTL (less than load) pickups.
• Maintain driver documents: logbooks, trip reports, manifests, etc.
• Understand DOT regulations for hazardous waste handling, labeling, and load segregation.
• Comply with state weight limits and safe operating practices.
• Use company mobile apps and systems as assigned.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip DOT/ MOT inspections.
• Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist in site housekeeping and lab pack/field service work as needed.
• Participate in Site Safety program and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
