Job summary

Republic Services in the United States seeks a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste using Class A trucks across designated routes. The role may involve overnight shifts, with most weekends off, and requires safe operation of trailers and adherence to DOT hazmat regulations.

The position includes pre- and post-trip inspections, logbook maintenance, and coordination with customers to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• MVR meets company policy standards and hazmat competencies.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a range of trucks including roll-offs, tankers, and tractors.
• Perform LTL pickup and waste manifest handling.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, trip reports, and permit books.
• Comply with DOT regulations for hazardous waste packaging, loading, labeling and segregation.
• Communicate effectively with customers and site personnel.
• Participate in Site Safety programs and routine training.
