Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Security Technical Leader to join the HW-CSDL team in a hybrid role based in Raleigh, North Carolina. You will bridge security assessments with practical hardware implementations, guiding product teams to robust designs.

The role requires deep hardware design knowledge, low‑level architecture expertise, and strong communication skills to drive security initiatives and cross‑functional collaboration across Cisco.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9+ years experience with BS, 6+ years with MS, or 3+ years with PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience leading security initiatives and mentoring engineers as a technical leader.
• Background in hardware development (schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets) and hardware security fundamentals (RoT, Secure Boot, crypto, secure key storage).

Responsibilities

• Provide security guidance to hardware teams to achieve HW-CSDL compliance.
• Analyze hardware architectures from system level to ASICs/FPGAs to identify vulnerabilities and design-in resilience.
• Interpret standards like NIST SP 800-193 and CNSA 2.0 into technical guidance and designs.
• Author security requirements, reference architectures, and implementation guides for engineering audiences.
• Lead multiple engagements with autonomy and drive security initiatives across product families.
• Educate hardware design communities to foster a security-first culture.
