Roboticsconnected in Atlanta, GA is seeking a motivated Hardware Development Engineer I to contribute to electrical and controls sub-components for material handling systems. In this entry-level role you will gain hands-on experience in power distribution, controls design, and industrial communication protocols under guidance from senior engineers.

Mansioni

• Assist in electrical sub-component design for power and controls systems; includes 3-phase and single-phase distribution
• Develop electrical layouts, schematics, and panel designs under guidance
• Design hardware sub-components with PCB layout considerations and EMI/EMC compliance
• Learn modular and scalable design prioritizing reliability and maintainability
• Create component drawings, BOMs, and documentation using CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks)
• Support control system architectures with IPCs, PLCs, and SCADA systems
• Configure and integrate VFDs and interfaces within material handling systems
• Select and integrate sensors, encoders, safety circuits and devices per safety standards
• Build and test prototypes to validate designs
• Evaluate designs through testing; troubleshoot defects and root causes
• Coordinate with suppliers to assess fabrication feasibility (DFM) and tolerances
• Assist in trade-off decisions on materials, availability, and cost
• Support NEC/NFPA 70 and other standards compliance
• Communicate findings to stakeholders and document design decisions
• Collaborate with product managers and peers on design discussions
• Facilitate design reviews and refine solutions to meet requirements
• Document research and design alternatives; justify decisions
• Communicate professionally and know when to listen
• Participate in intern interviews and team onboarding
