Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Electrical Hardware Engineer to drive end‑to‑end hardware development for robotics, automation, and material handling systems. You will own requirements, design, integration, and field support from concept through qualification for deployment at scale.

You will lead hardware design reviews, manage components and BOMs, and ensure manufacturability and reliability across power distribution, control cabinets, and field devices.

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware development for power distribution and control cabinets.
• Ability to analyze components for derating, thermal performance and tolerances.
• Proficiency with EPLAN and 3D layout design.
• Experience with PLM, BOM management and design changes.
• Knowledge of NRTL qualification and certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Define hardware requirements and specifications.
• Develop modular, connectorized electrical hardware for power distribution and field devices.
• Select, specify, and qualify industrial components; establish approved-vendor standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and manufacturers on manufacturability, cost, and readiness.
• Analyze components for sizing, derating, tolerance, and thermal performance.
• Create part libraries, schematics, and 3D layouts in EPLAN.
• Manage hardware configurations, BOMs, and engineering changes through PLM.
• Build prototypes and test setups; validate designs early.
• Plan and execute design verification and qualification testing; apply results.
• Own hardware reliability: FMEA, accelerated life testing, field analysis.
• Support builds, installation, and commissioning; lead design reviews.
