Job summary

ATS Industrial Automation is seeking an Intermediate Controls Design Engineer II - Hardware to drive development of electrical and pneumatic systems for world‑class automation equipment. The role involves concept design, hardware detailing, and on-site commissioning with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include designing schematics, wiring, and I/O lists, collaborating with customers, and integrating hardware and software components such as PLCs, robotics, and motion controllers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electrical controls systems design.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics control systems and machine operation.
• Strong electrical problem solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and pneumatic schematics based on project requirements.
• Develop and verify I/O lists and panel layouts for fabrication.
• Commission electrical/pneumatic systems at the facility and on-site.
• Collaborate with design teams to improve integration of controls technology.
