Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, program, integrate, and commission automated systems for a global leader in automation and material handling. You will work on conveyor, robotic, and integration projects from concept to startup, with heavy emphasis on Allen Bradley PLCs and NEC/UL/ NFPA standards.

The role features hands-on design, strong customer interaction, and exposure to Industry 4.0 technologies in a high-visibility engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• 5+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Strong Allen Bradley PLC programming experience.
• Experience designing systems to NEC, NFPA, UL, and related standards.
• Experience creating electrical schematics and panel designs.
• Knowledge of HMI and SCADA systems.
• Experience with fieldbus communication technologies.
• Experience commissioning industrial automation systems.
• Strong understanding of sensors, barcode readers, RFID systems, and industrial controls.
• Experience with pneumatics, valves, actuators, and machine control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to travel 25% - 40%

Responsibilities

• Develop and support PLC and automation software solutions.
• Perform electrical hardware engineering and controls design.
• Create electrical schematics and panel designs.
• Design and support HMI and SCADA applications.
• Commission machinery, automation systems, and integrated solutions.
• Support startup activities and customer acceptance testing.
• Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC systems.
• Configure motion control and servo systems.
• Support robotic integration projects.
• Assist with sales support, quoting, and conceptual design.
• Train customers on system operation and maintenance.
• Manage controls-related project deliverables and subprojects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues during implementation and support phases.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical and safety standards.
