Job summary

Steak ’n Shake is seeking a Restaurant Manager to lead from the front, actively working the line and guiding operations for peak hospitality and efficiency. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, food safety, and a relentless focus on guest satisfaction.

You will report to the General Manager/Franchise Partner and drive the business through team leadership, scheduling, inventory control, and KPI monitoring across all shifts.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of QSR or fast-casual restaurant management experience.
• Proven history of consistent work tenure and reliable leadership.
• Deep understanding of food cost management and labor optimization.
• Hands-on leadership—comfortable working the drivethrough or grill when needed.
• Tech-savvy with POS systems, inventory platforms, and invoice tools.
• Strong physical stamina: lift 50 lbs., stay on feet, fast-paced kitchen.
• LinkedIn profile and resume should align.
• Track record in hospitality excellence and navigating change in a team setting.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example—work the line, prep food, maintain cleanliness, and serve guests across shifts.
• Wear a professional uniform daily and uphold brand standards, food safety, and service protocols.
• Own the P&L: manage food costs, control inventory, verify invoices, and drive labor efficiency.
• Oversee inventory from back door to frontline.
• Recruit, train, and retain top hourly talent through clear feedback and coaching.
