Job summary

General Motors is seeking Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer Interns to gain hands‑on experience and contribute to programs across the plant. You will learn to lead mechanical projects, support operations improvements, and provide technical guidance to support personnel in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields and will graduate between Aug 2027 and Jun 2029.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics.
• Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Able to work full‑time, 40 hours per week.
• Must be willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Analyze product, process and technology to identify best manufacturing methods.
• Assist in design/build of tools and equipment or suggest process improvements.
• Support maintenance personnel in operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.
• Troubleshoot maintenance and equipment issues.
• Coordinate machinery upgrade projects.
• Lift or carry materials up to 15 pounds and up to 40 pounds periodically.
• Occasionally sit, climb ladders, and drive vehicles.
