Job summary

Salesforce is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer for Data 360 in Chicago, US. You will implement real-time data platforms inside enterprise environments, building ingestion, harmonization, and identity resolution across diverse sources.

You will work with SQL, Apex, Flow, Python, and the REST APIs, delivering production-ready solutions and ensuring security, testing, and operational readiness. This role emphasizes hands-on delivery and collaboration with customer teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software/data engineering or technical implementation with a production data solution
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Hands-on experience implementing Salesforce Data 360 (Data Cloud) or comparable platform
• Experience building data pipelines and integrations across ingestion, modeling, and activation
• Proficient in SQL and at least one enterprise language: Apex, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Knowledge of data modeling, APIs, integration patterns, and batch/streaming processing
• Experience delivering with customers, partners, or professional services

Responsibilities

• Build in customer environments using Data 360 configuration, SQL, Apex, Flow, Python, REST Query API, and related tools
• Develop data layer with ingestion, harmonization, and identity resolution across sources
• Create test data and validate outcomes across happy paths and edge cases
• Ground AI data integration layer with RAG, vector databases, and knowledge bases
• Design and implement MCP protocols and agent-to-agent communication
• Ensure secure data access, entitlements, and compliance in deployments
• Package reusable metadata, scripts, and runbooks for handoff and support
• Surface platform gaps and edge cases with evidence and impact to Product
