Job summary

Total Safety is seeking an H2S Technician to operate and maintain gas detection systems and breathing air safety gear on land or offshore drilling rigs and platforms with potential for releases.

Responsibilities include calibrations, daily checks, fit testing, and ensuring equipment is charged and ready. Required 3–6 months H2S experience with related trainings; high school diploma or GED accepted.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months’ H2S and/or Upstream experience.
• Complete H2S Academy Training (H2S Training, SAFE GULF or SAFE LAND).
• First aid responder training preferred.
• State and OSHA regulations training.
• Customer service skills training.
• Trained to complete site inspections using SMART Inspections.

Responsibilities

• Assist in rigging and operation of gas detection systems.
• Maintain breathing air safety equipment and perform checks.
• Calibrate gas detection equipment and complete routine checks.
• Support fit testing of customer personnel.
• Inspect and service safety trailers and related gear.
• Follow Total Safety and customer policies and document tasks timely.
