Job summary

Total Safety U.S., Inc. is seeking an H2S Technician to operate and maintain gas detection systems and breathing air safety gear on drilling rigs or platforms. The role entails performing daily to monthly checks, testing SCBA units, and ensuring equipment readiness on-site in Midland, TX.

The position requires 3–6 months of H2S/upstream experience, H2S Academy and OSHA training, and ability to follow all safety policies while documenting tasks accurately.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months’ H2S and/or Upstream experience.
• Complete H2S Academy Training to include but not limited to H2S Training, SAFE GULF or SAFE LAND.
• State and OSHA regulations training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Rigging Gas Detection Systems.
• Assist in operation and maintenance gas detection systems and breathing air safety equipment.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly checks on equipment.
• Fit testing of customer’s personnel.
• Inspect and service cooling & shower trailers.
• Must be able to work safely and follow all TS & Customer policies and procedures.
• Completes all Total Safety and Customer documentation associated with assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensures that all Cascade Air Banks are charged and online.
• Ensures that all 5, 10 and/or 30 minutes SCBA’s are functional and fully charged.
