Job summary

Total Safety is seeking a dedicated H2S Technician to support gas detection systems and breathing air equipment on land-based rigs in Texas. You will perform calibration, inspections, fit testing, and daily checks, ensuring safety compliance and readiness for field operations.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 months H2S/upstream experience, completion of H2S Academy training, and a HS diploma. You will work in shop, outdoor and customer facilities, with emphasis on safety and precise documentation.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 months H2S and/or Upstream experience required.
  • Completion of H2S Academy Training (H2S Training, SAFE GULF or SAFE LAND).
  • First aid responder training preferred.
  • State and OSHA regulations training.
  • Customer Service skills training.
  • Trained to complete site inspections using SMART Inspections program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Rigging Gas Detection Systems and in operation/maintenance of gas detection systems and breathing air safety equipment.
  • Calibrates gas detection and completes daily/weekly/monthly checks.
  • Perform fit testing of customer personnel and inspect service of cooling/shower trailers.
  • Maintain documentation for all inspections, repairs, and time sheets.
  • Ensure cascade air banks are charged and SCBA units are functional.
  • Maintain air compressors and perform scheduled air quality checks.
  • Cross-train and assist others in facility with equipment inspection and testing.
  • Keep work areas clean and organize safety equipment inventory.
