Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Guest Services Ambassador in Valrico, FL. The role is full-time and requires in-person service at Bloomingdale Health Hub, with rotating shifts including early mornings and weekends.

The ambassador will manage guest flow, assist with registration and scheduling, and act as a patient advocate across services, delivering compassionate, hospitality-focused care and effective communication with staff and physicians.

Qualifications

• Proficient in waiting room management system and in registration/scheduling of at least one service-line.
• HS diploma or GED required; Associates in Hospitality Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Function as the guests' liaison to all assigned services.
• Provide hospitality-focused service to ensure patients, clients, patrons or visitors have a positive experience and access health-related and retail services.
• Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, health system leaders, staff, medical office personnel and referring physicians.
• Address and resolve issues, escalating when necessary to facility leaders or management.
• Possess advanced computer skills and familiarity with reception, registration, scheduling, financial counseling, insurance verification, waiting room management, and document management.

• Hospitality-focused and critical to ensuring that each patient, client, patron or visitor is able to enjoy a positive experience and have their personal needs met while taking advantage of the variety of health-related and retail services offered by the facility.
• Act as an advocate for the patient and must communicate effectively with patients, visitors, health system leaders, staff, medical office personnel and referring physicians.
• Will need to address & resolve issues, recognizing those requiring escalation to facility leaders and/or manager.
• May or may not require performing all job specific functions listed within this description. Must possess advanced computer skills and is proficient in all of the following modalities/computer applications as appropriate: reception, registration, scheduling, financial counseling, insurance verification, waiting room management, and document management.

Requirements:

• Proficient (within 6 months of hire) in waiting room management system (overall) and registration and scheduling of at least one service-line (as per management directive).
• Required HS diploma or GED, Preferred Education is Associates Degree in Hospitality Management.
• Required Experience is 1 year Customer Service or 1 year Hospitality.
• Required Specific Skills also includes: Insurance Terminology use and understanding.
• Bilingual/Spanish/English strongly preferred
