Default Brand is seeking a customer service‑oriented usher to join our team in St. Louis, MO. You will greet guests, guide seating, and help maintain a clean, inviting venue during events.

Role requires effective communication, the ability to work quickly, and a willingness to cover shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Prior event experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

  • High school level education or better with related experience is preferred.
  • Experience in usher or event industry is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and guest service skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a warm, friendly manner and assist with seating.
  • Monitor the area before and during events for cleanliness and presentation.
  • Check tickets for date, level, aisle, row and seat accuracy.
  • Help guests locate seating sections and provide clear information.
  • Receive and respond to guest complaints; document issues on the Incident Report Form.
  • Observe guests for falls or objects and document observations in the area.
  • Stay visible, proactive, and avoid leaning or sitting while on duty.
  • Maintain knowledge of facility layout and key areas.
  • Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Job description

Our ideal candidate will be a highly customer service-oriented team player with a friendly and accommodating personality, plus the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, thrive in a team setting, and work at a fast pace. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days/nights, weekends and holidays is necessary. Essential duties include the following:

  • Greet each guest in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Monitor designated work area before and during scheduled events to ensure cleanliness and certainty that it is presentable to the public.
  • Check each ticket thoroughly; noting the date, level, aisle, row, and seat to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist guests with locating their seating section.
  • Provide guests with clear and accurate information.
  • Receive and respond to guest complaints, contacting the supervisor for assistance if necessary. Document any issues on the Incident Report Form, listing any complaints and/or incidents that occur.
  • Check on guests if they fall, or if a foreign object lands in their seating section. Be sure to document observations of the area, including any debris, etc.
  • Use initiative, maintain visibility in the designated areas, and react to incidents that require GS Ushers’ attention. Usher staff cannot lean, slouch, or sit while on duty.
  • Maintain a general understanding of the entire facility and location of key areas; including First Aid rooms, Guest Service Centers, restrooms, telephones, family restrooms, ATM machines, etc.
  • Work a flexible schedule as necessary to include nights, weekends and holidays.
