Job summary

Shamin Hotels is seeking a Guest Service Agent in Sandston, VA to greet guests, check them in/out, and assist with reservations. You will engage with guests both in person and online, provide local activity recommendations, and manage room assignments and payments.

The role emphasizes friendly service, accuracy in processing charges, and adherence to hotel policies. Employment offers include a structured schedule and opportunities for growth within our operations team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a front desk agent preferred.
• Prioritization and time management skills required.
• Attention to detail and reliability required.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests.

Responsibilities

• Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests.
• Issues room key and escort instructions to Bell person or guest.
• Date-stamps, sorts and racks incoming mail and messages.
• Transmits and receives messages using telephone, fax and switchboard.
• Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests and activities.
• Keeps records of room availability and guests’ accounts.
• Computes bill, collects payment and makes change for guests.
• May make, confirm and cancel reservations for guests.
• Posts charges such as room, food, liquor or telephone by hand or machine.
• May order reservations for guests.
• Understands and enforces the hotel company credit policies.
• Accounts for all cash and makes deposits per policies.
• Communicates with front office and hotel departments.
• Reports to work on schedule in uniform per policy.
• Knows and complies with all company policies.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Cross sells other Shamin Hotels.
• Performs other related duties as required.
