Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is hiring a Front Desk Supervisor in Emeryville, CA. The role focuses on training, supervising, and scheduling the front desk team and supporting the Operations Manager with accounting and HR tasks.

You will lead the front desk tech and guest marketing initiatives, act as the lead contact in the absence of GM/Operations Manager, and serve as a Guest Service Agent when needed. This is a hands-on supervisory role with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of hotel experience required.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• ServSafe certification required; TIPS certification may be required.
• Experience with Opera and Microsoft Office required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead front desk training, supervision, and scheduling.
• Oversee front desk operations and guest services.
• Manage cash handling, credit card transactions, and reports.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager on accounting and HR tasks.
• Maintain front desk systems (Opera and Synxis).
• Ensure guest requests are fulfilled and service recovery is effective.
• Promote teamwork and effective communication across shifts.
