Responsibilities

• Obtain all necessary information when taking room reservations and follow the rate-quoting scenario.
• Monitor Front Office log and Trace File daily.
• Fully operate all relevant aspects of the Front Desk computer system.
• Ensure logging and delivery of messages, packages, and mail promptly.
• Be aware of all rates, packages, and promotions listed in the Red Book.
• Be familiar with all in-house groups and dates.
• Follow Highgate Hotel credit policies.
• Complete and file bucket checks, rate verification, and housekeeping reports.
• Maintain operation of the PBX console when applicable.
• Communicate effectively with staff and other departments.
• Assist in training and cross-training of new hires.
• Be prepared for emergency procedures as required.
• Oversee and ensure guest check-in/out is friendly and efficient.
• Run room status reports and relay information to relevant departments.
• Maintain hotel security through key control.
• Maximize room revenue through merchandising.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

2 to 3 years hotel experience
