Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Miami Beach is seeking a Guest Service Agent to deliver attentive front desk service from check-in to checkout, while maximizing occupancy and guest satisfaction.

You'll greet guests, answer inquiries, manage reservations, and coordinate with departments to ensure smooth operations. The role requires strong communication, computer skills, and a warm, professional demeanor to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• College coursework in related field helpful.
• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Computer experience required.
• Customer Services experience preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Light work—lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
• Effective communication with employees and guests.
• Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Maintain regular attendance as required by hotel standards.
• Maintain proper uniform and nametag.
• Comply with hotel standards and regulations for safe operations.
• Show initiative and anticipate guest needs.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests at the Front Desk.
• Maintain operation of the PBX console.
• Answer guest inquiries about services, facilities and hours.
• Coordinate logging and delivery of packages and messages.
• Review Front Office log and Trace File daily.
• Answer inquiries about restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
• Follow cash handling and credit policies.
• Be aware of rates, packages and promotions.
• Be familiar with in-house groups and dates.
• Obtain information when taking reservations and quote rates.
• Be familiar with hospitality terminology.
• Know emergency procedures and assist as needed.
• Handle check-ins and checkouts courteously.
• Operate Front Desk computer system.
• Complete shift checklist efficiently.
• Balance and prepare closing paperwork.
• Maintain and promote guest programs and promotions.
• Assist guests with safe deposit boxes.
