Job summary

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar is seeking a friendly host/hostess to greet guests, seat them thoughtfully, and help maintain a smooth dining room flow. You will play a key role in maximizing seating efficiency while upholding cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work as a TEAM.
• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• Follow appropriate food safety guidelines.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to transport and carry objects such as a high chair or booster seat.
• Ability to wipe, sweep and carry plates to kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests on arrival and departure, and hold the door open.
• Seat guests according to the established plan and guests’ needs.
• Keep host/hostess stand and waiting area clean.
• Ensure menus remain clean and stocked.
• Complete restroom checks and refill paper products as needed.
• Sanitize and wipe down tables and reset them.
• Assist servers by taking initial drink orders or delivering food in the dining room.
• Complete daily opening and closing tasks to maintain a clean, safe environment.
