Job summary

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill + Bar is seeking a friendly host/hostess to welcome guests, seat them following the plan, and help manage dining room flow. The role supports servers and keeps the stand, waiting area, and menus clean and stocked.

The position requires a customer-focused, team-oriented individual who can stand for long periods, work evenings and weekends, and follow food-safety guidelines while contributing to a welcoming dining experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work as a TEAM.
• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• Follow appropriate food safety guidelines.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to transport and carry objects such as a high chair or booster seat.
• Ability to wipe, sweep and carry plates to kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests as they enter and depart the restaurant and hold the door open for guests.
• Seat guests according to the established plan and guests’ needs.
• Keep host/hostess stand and waiting area clean.
• Ensure menu’s remain clean and stocked.
• Complete restroom checks and refill paper products in bathrooms, as needed.
• Sanitize and wipe down all tables and sweep the area as needed and resets the table.
• Assist the servers when needed by taking the initial drink order or running food to the guests in the dining room.
• Complete daily opening and closing work to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and TEAM.
