Job summary

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar is seeking a friendly host/hostess to welcome guests, manage seating, and help maintain smooth dining room flow. You will support servers, ensure clean menus and work areas, and help uphold safety and hospitality standards in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

The role requires standing for extended periods, a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends, and a teamwork mindset aligned with our core values.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work as a TEAM.
• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Follow appropriate food safety guidelines.
• Able to lift and move objects as needed (e.g., high chair) and assist with seating.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests as they enter and depart the restaurant and hold the door open for guests.
• Seat guests according to the established plan and guests’ needs.
• Keep host/hostess stand and waiting area clean.
• Ensure menus remain clean and stocked.
• Complete restroom checks and refill paper products in bathrooms, as needed.
• Sanitize and wipe down all tables and sweep the area as needed and reset the table.
• Assist servers by taking initial drink orders or running food to guests.
• Complete daily opening and closing work to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and TEAM.
