Job summary

LAUKOA in New London, Connecticut is seeking a full-time Greeter to welcome guests in the main lobby, assist with admission and check-in, and guide visitors to gallery spaces and museum amenities.

You will support event logistics, communicate museum rules, restock brochures, and log questions and feedback, with weekend and evening shifts as needed. Prior customer-facing experience and a warm, clear voice are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years in customer-facing reception, retail, hospitality, visitor-services, or comparable roles.
• Ability to stand or move in a busy lobby for four to six hours and communicate in a warm, clear voice.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evening events as operationally required.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming first impression in the main lobby and assist with admission procedures.
• Manage visitor flow and provide orientation and wayfinding information.
• Direct visitors to restrooms, elevators, and gallery areas; restock brochures.
• Coordinate with the Visitor and Event Coordinator on daily program shifts and events.
• Communicate Government-approved information about museum programs and memberships.
• Log visitor questions and feedback per established procedures.
