Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking a Host/Hostess for a fast-paced, full-service restaurant environment. You will greet guests, present menus, manage seating, and assist with reservations using MMS/MICROS.

Maintain a professional host stand and coordinate with the team to ensure smooth service. The ideal candidate is 18+, has a HS diploma or GED, strong organizational and communication skills, and experience in high-volume dining.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant environment preferred.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage guest flow and seating efficiently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic math for handling guest counts and reservations.
• Professional, confident, and pleasant demeanor with a well-groomed appearance.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Experience with MMS and MICROS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Present clean, organized menus to guests and inspect menus regularly.
• Maintain the professional appearance of the host stand and surrounding areas.
• Provide guests with accurate information on services, dining options, and hours.
• Monitor guest wait times and manage large parties for efficient seating.
• Answer incoming calls and assist with reservations or inquiries.
• Oversee side work and support staff as needed.
• Notify the manager on duty of any guest concerns.
• Ensure smooth shift transitions and proper communication to incoming staff.
• Verify tables are set and ready for service at shift start.
• Coordinate staff breaks and support team members as needed.
• Deliver courteous and friendly service to guests and team members.
