Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking an enthusiastic Host/Hostess to welcome guests at the restaurant and manage seating in a fast-paced, guest‑facing environment. You will present menus, greet guests, and coordinate seating arrangements to optimize flow and guest satisfaction.

The role requires excellent communication, basic math skills, and a polished appearance. Experience with MMS and MICROS is a plus, and candidates must be 18+ with a HS diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old or older.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant preferred.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for guest flow and seating.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in basic math for handling guest counts and reservations.
• Professional, confident, and pleasant demeanor; well-groomed appearance.
• Ability to build relationships with guests, team members, and other departments.
• Understanding of company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Ability to read/write in English; read safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Present organized menus to guests and inspect for wear.
• Maintain clean host stand and surrounding areas.
• Provide guests with accurate information on hotel/casino services and hours.
• Monitor wait times and manage large parties for efficient seating.
• Answer calls and assist with reservations or inquiries.
• Support completion of side work by team members.
• Address guest concerns and notify manager on duty.
• Ensure smooth shift transitions and proper handoffs.
• Verify tables are properly set at shift start.
• Coordinate staff breaks with management.
• Provide courteous service to guests and team members.
