Job summary

The South Carolina State Museum Commission is seeking a Visitor Services Associate in the Operations & Customer Experience Division. This guest-facing role alternates between the admissions desk and the museum’s 4D Theater, ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people and loves arts and culture.

Responsibilities include running the ticketing system, checking in guests, managing showtimes, assisting with theater operations, and providing friendly service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in amusement, theater, or retail environments preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate the museum's ticketing system, check in guests, and reserve showtimes.
• Operate the 4D Theater, check in guests, start shows, and manage 3D glasses stock.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve guest issues.
• Answer the museum's main phone line to assist inquiries and transfers.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies (ticket stock, brochures, maps).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of admissions desk, 4D Theater and lobby.
• Support programs, exhibitions, and special initiatives through visitor engagement.
