Job summary

South Carolina State Museum Commission is seeking a part-time Group Visits Reservation Specialist to oversee school and tour group visits. You will manage reservations, coordinate itineraries, and assist with payments on visitation days, ensuring smooth guest experiences.

Role involves handling ticketing, coordinating with staff, and providing exceptional service while working a flexible weekend/holiday schedule at the museum in South Carolina.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with customer service, tour groups, or amusement organizations preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service to museum visitors.
• Manage reservation requests via online submissions, emails, and phone calls; coordinate with Group Visits staff.
• Operate the museum’s ticketing and POS system to create itineraries for groups.
• Assist with intake, welcoming, payments, and scheduling on visitation days.
• Sell admission tickets for groups and general admission as needed.
• Handle cash and process payments; collect outstanding balances.
• Communicate changes to affected departments.
• Respond promptly to telephone and web inquiries.
• Respond to customer problems or complaints.
• Model standards for performance and attitude daily.
